Little struggles

Tue Dec 1, 2009, 11:33 PM
The four pictures (plus one in the scrapbook) of the boulangerie are experiments for a drawing I would love to do based on :icontuscanson: 's Lacoste Boulengerie Redux The original photo is quite dramatic, but I thought I would try for something different. Been working on this about a week, made lots and lots of sketches and color tests, and am finding it quite difficult and probably beyond my skills. Still, I got a very nice comment from :iconpenandinkdrawings: and feel encouraged to keep trying.

If you like beautiful scenery, especially of France and Italy, take a look at Tim's work at his :icontuscanson: gallery. [link]

For some more beautiful scenery, the pen & ink both realistic & fantasy kind, go to John Morrissey's :iconpenandinkdrawings: gallery [link]

*** edit ***

When I originally wrote this, I described John Morrissey's sceneries as "For more beautiful scenery..." I did NOT mean to make it sound like they are more beautiful than Tim's. I just meant if anyone wanted to see some more scenery that was also beautiful to check out another link. I changed that to read "For some more beautiful scenery..." Very sorry about any mixed messages.

  • Listening to: Ne nezz rozsam -- Duvo
  • Playing: gadulka
  • Eating: salad and cookies
  • Drinking: pomegranate white tea

deviantID

The gadulka is a Bulgarian instrument primarily played for folk music. At least for now as it hasn't much hit the mainstream pop scene -- that I know of. The bow isn't actually so much larger than the gadulka. To see what it really looks like, check here: [link]

Devious Info

  • Interests: music, cycling, all things inspiring
  • Tools of the Trade: gadulka, bicycle, pencil

Hi Jan,

Thank you for the 2 Favorites. As always, they are appreciated. I hope you find the Guided Imagery helpful. I use it for depression, anxiety and pain management. Most people start by having someone guide them (slowly read it to you, while you are in a relaxed state, but i do all of mine self-guided. If someone helps you, you can go deeper, but then you cannot follow and adjust to your own liking.

Matthew

All the best,

Hi Jan,

Thank you for the favorite on "People In a Tree." It is appreciated. There are 4 people in the tree altogether.

All the best,
